Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist: Ashley Savard RN, CANS
When one of our staff goes above and beyond, we are proud to celebrate. Ashley Savard, RN has added CANS (Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist) designation to her credentials. All of our staff (administrative, nursing, medical) undergo continuing education in their fields of service. That is important in any profession, but Ashley chose to do even more.
The Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist exam is administered by the Plastic Surgery Nursing Certification Board. Applicants must be working with a board-certified plastic surgeon practicing asethetic medicine, have more than two years experience in that field (Ashley had many more years experience) and more than 1,000 practice hours in the core specialty.
The written exam covers a broad range of topics in aesthetic nursing: injectables (Botox, fillers, Sculptra), energy-based therapies (ablative and non-ablative lasers, intense pulsed light), ultrasound, cryolipolisis, chemical peels, microneedeling, advanced clinical skin care, patient assessment, care plan design, and evaluation of treatment responses. Continuing education is an essecential requirement as well.
Ashley specializes in Botox, Dysport, Juvederm, Restylane, Sculptra, Kybella, superficial and deeper laser treatments, hair removal, pigment spots, and more.
